NorgesGruppen has two core business areas: wholesaling and retailing.

The wholesale business includes the ASKO companies from tromsø in the north to Lillesand in the south as well as Storcash (Cash & Carry for business) in the largest cities. the business is organised into nine regions with 13 ASKO companies and a central warehouse and co-loading terminal at Vestby in the county of Akershus.
ASKO’s net turnover in 2009 was NOK 38,2 billion, representing growth of 9 %. All market segments experienced solid growth (grocery retail, commercial kitchens and convenience), and ASKO increased its market shares both in relation to new product groups and new customers. vegetables are the largest product groups that ASKO wishes to distribute, both for commercial reasons and because it will contribute towards reduced emissions and a better environment.
NorgesGruppen is the largest operator in the Norwegian supermarket sector with a 40.0% market share. Income from retail activities is generated from the sale of goods in the group’s own stores. The concept chains also generate earnings from chain membership fees. NorgesGruppen stores and stores associated with the group saw total turnover of NOK 53,2 billion in 2009.
AC Nielsen Norge’s grocery retail survey shows that NorgesGruppen increased its market share by 0.2% to 40.0%. NorgesGruppen saw most of its growth in the grocery sector, a total of 6.9 %, but has also taken a larger share of the overall market.
